On October 2 + 3, 2010 at the Alan & Adrianne St. George Center for the Arts we held our fourth MAGIC IN SAVANNA, benefiting two local organizations: Adrianne's Angels Pet Rescue and The Savanna Historical Society. What great fun we had helping the animals and our local culture as magicians Tom Burgoon, Jessica Peterson, Ryne Strom, and singers & dancers St. Louis Swing entertained young and old alike.

COMEDIAN & MAGICIAN TOM BURGOON of Kansas City has audiences falling out of their seats with laughter from Vegas to Washington, DC., where he performed for President George W. Bush at the Inaugural Ball! Steve Martin says: "Tom is hilarious!" and Louie Anderson says: "Tom Burgoon cracks me up!" Whether it's Harrah's in Reno or The Magic Castle in Hollywood, Tom delivers an hilarious comedy magical event.

"THE MAGIC AND ILLUSIONS OF RYNE STROM" presented by Magician and illusionist Ryne Strom of St. Charles, IL., assisted by Disney dancer, Katy Vogel, and company will amaze & amuse you with mind-boggling magic, hilarious comedy, audience participation, and world famous illusions for the entire family.

   

Jessica Peterson

Jessica Peterson has been appearing, vanishing, and working her magic since birth…literally! Raised in New Jersey, Jessica’s mother worked as a magician’s assistant in some of the biggest illusion shows in the country and her uncle toured his show all over the United States, so she pretty much grew up in the industry. Whether she is making live doves appear, escaping from a straitjacket, or sawing her assistant in half, she always has something up her sleeve! Her faced-paced magic and dazzling illusion is sure to delight the entire family!

Over the past year, Jessica has performed everywhere from the Borgata Hotel &Casino in Atlantic City to Six Flags Great Adventure. She has appeared on numerous television shows and documentaries including MTV’s Total Request Live!, ENIGMA: Magic TV, Step Right Up, Women in Boxes, and Tampa Bay 10. In addition to being a magician, Jessica is also a circus performer! She worked as a ringmaster, fire eater, and aerial artist for Vidbell’s Olde Tyme Circus and for Ward Hall’s World of Wonders Circus Sideshow.

For the upcoming Magic and Music in Savanna, Jessica has prepared a fun-filled act that is sure to get you in the mood for the Halloween season.

     

Swing St. Louis

"SWING ST. LOUIS" is a sister act tribute to America's Greatest Generation with Big Band harmonies and tap dancing by Emily and Lacy Miller of St. Louis, MO. This sparkling duo has entertained countless audiences with their family-friendly shows from Branson to Orlando. Swing St. Louis duo, sisters Emily and Lacy Miller, bring back the hits of the Andrews Sisters, Frank Sinatra, Gene Kelly and more! Enjoy the sounds of the Big-Band Era, featuring songs like: “I Got Rhythm,” “Summer Wind,” & “Alexander’s Ragtime Band!” These young performers excel in tight harmonies and snappy rhythms, bringing the greatest era of music into the next generation!

Emily Miller is principal performer for Swing St. Louis and Director for Broadway on the Driveway. Directing credits include: Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Fiddler on the Roof, The Sound of Music, The Education of Hyman Kaplan, The Four Freedoms, Singin’ in the Rain, and Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella. Performing credits include: Marvin Hamlisch’s 2000 Search for a Star finalist (Powell Symphony Hall), 2000 and 2004 Sweet Adelines International Conventions, 2005 St. Louis Variety Star finalist, “Fruma Sarah“ in Fiddler on the Roof (2002), and “Narrator” in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (2001). Emily is co-author of the 2004 musical The Four Freedoms - A Tribute to Norman Rockwell. Emily is a recipient of KMOV News Channel Five’s “Do the Right Thing” award. In 2006, Emily and Lacy Miller were awarded a Missouri senatorial resolution for their contributions to the arts in their community.

Lacy Miller is principal performer for Swing St. Louis and Artistic Director for Broadway on the Driveway. Lacy is co-author of the 2004 musical The Four Freedoms - A Tribute to Norman Rockwell.
